Nynke has always loved watching dance, but never thought there would be a dance she would actually practice herself. She believed she wouldn’t be rhythmic enough. Until she saw Lindy Hop. This dance appeared so informal, so much about having fun and so little about following rules, this could be something to try! Being already a vintage-fan made Lindy Hop appeal even more. Nynke started taking classes in Sweden, began leading in Geneve, and danced in Amsterdam and Utrecht before moving to Amersfoort. She loves the international scene (it’s so big!), the history (Nynke recently started to familiarize herself with Afro-American history), the social element and especially the thrill it gives her. Nynke’s message is to go for that excitement, no matter how you – or others – judge your dance abilities!
